Kralingse Plas, located in the Rotterdam district Kralingen, is a water of about 100 hectares, which is used for small water sports and angling.
The Plas was created by the extraction of peat land for peat.
The then Noordplas was spared alone. because the Noordplas was the deepest of the 15 lakes, also there were some factories and houses on the lake. This makes it too expensive to reclaim this lake.
After World War II a small part was again filled up with debris from the bombed city center.
